FieldCam Privacy Policy

FieldCam is a field-documentation camera app. This policy explains what data FieldCam handles and how.

Summary

FieldCam does not have user accounts, does not run analytics or advertising, and does not send your photos, videos, or location to the developer or to any third party. Everything FieldCam captures is stored on your device, in the places you choose.

What FieldCam stores, and where

• Photos and videos you capture are saved inside the app's own storage on your device. If you turn on “Save to Photos” in Settings, a copy is also saved to your device's Photos app.
• Location and address. If you allow Location access, FieldCam reads your device's GPS coordinates while you use the app and stamps them onto the photos and videos you take, so the record shows where each one was taken. To also show a readable place name, FieldCam sends the coordinates to Apple's geocoding service (the same one used by Maps) to look up the address; this happens through Apple's Core Location framework and is governed by Apple's own privacy practices, not FieldCam's.
• Tags, notes and settings you enter (component names, locations, comments, camera and overlay preferences) are stored on your device, in the app's own database.
• Camera and microphone are used only to capture the photos and videos you take. Audio is only recorded for video if you have that setting turned on.

None of the above is transmitted to FieldCam's developer. There is no FieldCam server.

Optional features that use the network

• Backup. If you turn on Backup in Settings, FieldCam copies your photos and videos either to your own iCloud Drive (in a private container only your devices can read) or to a folder you choose on your device/network — never to a server operated by FieldCam.
• Team Templates. FieldCam can encode your camera/overlay settings and tag list into a QR code so a teammate can copy your setup by scanning it. This QR code is generated and read entirely on-device; nothing is uploaded anywhere. If your template includes a logo image hosted at a link you provide, scanning the QR code causes the receiving device to download that image directly from the link you supplied — the same as opening any web link.
• Logo import. If you add a company logo from a link, FieldCam downloads that one image from the address you typed. No other data is sent with that request.

Data sharing

FieldCam does not sell or share your data with third parties. FieldCam has no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs.

Your controls

Location, camera, microphone and photo-library access can be turned off at any time in iOS Settings → FieldCam, or in FieldCam's own in-app settings. Photos, videos and their metadata can be deleted at any time from within FieldCam.

Children's privacy

FieldCam is a professional documentation tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new “Last updated” date.
